What is a Hemp Bud

Hemp is known to have so many health benefits as time passes and we understand how hemp works more and more.  Even the hemp bud is beneficial to us.  It may be hard for you to believe that such a tiny thing has so many benefits, but it is true.

The Hemp Bud

A hemp bud is actually the premium flower harvested from hemp plants.  While hemp started out as being mainly grown for fiber and grain, it actually has many other benefits.  The same applies to the hemp bud.

Benefits of the Hemp Bud

You won’t get high off of just the hemp bud, but they do offer a lot of the same benefits as marijuana and some argue that the hemp bud benefits are better.  Some of these benefits may include:

  • Controlling seizures
  • Helping with anxiety and depression
  • Pain Relief
  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties
  • Could potentially aid in cancer treatments

The hemp bud is also a great source of terpenes.  Terpenes are compounds that give plants their smell and flavor.  They also offer medicinal benefits and they may enhance the effects of CBD.

Hemp buds also contain higher levels of CBG.  CBG is another element found in cannabis and it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and neuroprotective properties.  They allow you to have all medicinal benefits, without the psychoactive effects.

How to Use a Hemp Bud

People that regularly use hemp buds will most likely agree that the best way to get their benefits is to smoke them.  Smoking cannabis has actually been scientifically proven to be more bioavailable. This means that your body absorbs the cannabis more naturally than if eaten or applied to the skin.

Side Effects to the Hemp Bud

As with most things in life, there are some side effects to smoking the hemp bud.  However, keep in mind that smoking cannabis is not considered nearly as dangerous as smoking cigarettes.  Some smokers even use hemp buds to help them quit cigarettes.  Though you may experience some side effects such as:

  • Diarrhea
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry Mouth
  • Nausea

Another important thing to know about the hemp bud is how to properly identify them.  This is vital because hemp buds are highly potent and you don’t want to get a strain of them that would affect you negatively.  You can use such characteristics as shade, appearance of crystalized hair, leaves, and height in order to identify the type of hemp bud.
